Human being is the best beautiful creature ever possible in the universe. Human is the only living piece in the planet and probably in the universe who would like to get dressed up to look beautiful. Historians can trace beauty products and cosmetics back to 4,000 BC and the ancient Egyptians who used Kohl to create dramatic eyes. Today the worldwide beauty industry, which covers everything from hair and skin care to make-up, is estimated to be $425 billion industry.
That’s amazing. We were really amazed when we started writing this article and tried to extract information from internet and websites. In fact Ashtanga Hridaya (a 1500 year old book of Ayurveda) offers six different formulations to be used for the six seasons of the year. The ancient use of beauty products is believed to have originated in India, but the earliest records of products and their application dates back to Circa 2500 and 1550 B.C to the Indus valley civilization.
We all are born with a unique look & skin complexion. However over the course of time Beauty Industry has made us believe that good looking and beauty is all about fair skin complexion. Even the society around us also made us believe beauty is all about fairness. Time is the witness there is no relationship between beauty and fairness. Any good educated person will realise and accept taking care of skin along with a positive attitude towards life is all one needs to look beautiful.
According to Statista (The Portal for Statistics), “In 2016, the global cosmetic market grew an estimated of four percent in comparison to the previous year. Skincare, hair care, make-up, perfumes, toiletries and deodorants, and oral cosmetics are the main product categories of the cosmetic market. Skincare was the leading category, accounting for about 36 percent of the global market. …. Between 2016 and 2021, the Asia Pacific mass beauty market is projected to grow by nearly 14.9 billion U.S. dollars in sales.” In India too the similar trend is found – the market of cosmetics is rising day by day. Now the question is how safe are they or the intention of makers? A report published in HuffPost reveals the non organic or chemical personal care products are full with nasty & harmful chemicals leading to various diseases.
You might find lots of homemade beauty recipes prepared form Mango, Yogurt, Drumsticks, Ceia Butter, Honey, Cucumber, Lemon, Moringa leaves, Tulsi, Eggs, Beson, Multani Mitti and many more. And most important thing is all those ingredients are absolutely chemical free. But the real question is today’s fast moving time; no one has time to prepare and make it ready for application. This is where the natural and organic beauty care products are helping consumers to get the flavour of home remedies.
Organic Personal Care is being a safe, healthy & viable trend nowadays mostly among the well to do & self conscious urban consumers. This segment is further categorized as Organic Skin Care, Organic Hair Care, Organic Makeup Cosmetics etc. Among all of them Organic Skin Care & Organic Hair Care are most popular. Actually the extreme weather condition in India has boosted the consumers to choose Organic Moisturizing Creams, Organic Moisturizing Lotions during winter, and Soaps made out of natural and organic ingredients during summer. To say next, the use of Organic Hair Care like Organic Shampoo & Conditioners has increased among men and women and especially for children. Organic Body Care product’s demand is also increasing rapidly.
One last aspect that we must highlight to Indian Organic and Natural personal care consumers is that switching from regular personal care product to organic and natural personal care product is not an easy job. In the first place, we assume it is expensive which is not completely true. Because when you switch to organic and natural personal care products, you will realise the consumption of quantity also reduces because of its effectiveness. What we meant here is that, 100ML of organic shampoo will run longer than 100 ML of regular chemical shampoo.
